Struve 2816, an easy triple at the heart of the large open cluster Trumpler 7. Struve 2816A, also known as HD206267A, is the star that lights up IC 1396, and destroys a solar system in the making. For more details on this interesting object, just follow the link on the left.

I observed M44 in Cancer with my 4-inch Tal 100RS, and could add more than 100 stars into my sketch. I also mnaged to identify a few very interesting stars, a few red giants and one very interesting blue straggler. Read all about this very rich open cluster, and have a look at the sketch and color magnitude diagram, where you can see the identified stars, just by moving the mouse pointer over the images........ enjoy!!!

Iota Cassiopeiae is definitely a visual showcase triple. Recent studies revealed that Iota is in fact an opticle triple star. Read all about it and enjoy the observing report.
